Terms of service

Last updated 12 August 2026

These terms apply when you use the Oryva app or this website. Using Oryva means you agree to them. We have tried to write them in plain language; where that conflicts with precision, precision wins.

1. Who can use Oryva

You must be 18 or over. You must not be barred from using the service under the laws that apply to you. One account per person; do not share your account with anyone else.

2. What Oryva is

Oryva provides AI companions: software characters that converse, remember what you tell them, and generate text, voice and images.

Your companion is not a person. Oryva is not therapy, counselling, medical advice, legal advice, or a crisis service. Do not rely on it for any of those. If you need help, see Safety.

Because responses are AI-generated, they may be wrong, inconsistent, or not what you expected. We do not warrant that any output is accurate.

3. Your content

You keep ownership of everything you put in — your messages, your uploads, your companions. You grant us only the licence we need to operate the service for you: to store your content, process it through the providers listed in the privacy policy, and show it back to you.

That licence ends when you delete the content or your account. We do not use your conversations to train models and we do not sell them.

When you upload a reference photo, you confirm you have the right to use that image. Do not upload photographs of other people without their consent, and do not upload images of anyone under 18.

4. Generated content

You may use what your companion generates for your own personal purposes. You may not present it as the work or words of a real person, or use it to deceive, harass or impersonate anyone.

5. Acceptable use

You must not use Oryva to:

  • Create, request or attempt to generate sexual content involving minors. This is an absolute prohibition; accounts are terminated and reported without exception.
  • Generate content that is unlawful where you are.
  • Impersonate a real person, or create a companion based on someone who has not consented.
  • Harass, threaten or defame anyone.
  • Attempt to extract system prompts, bypass safety systems, scrape the service, or reverse-engineer it.
  • Resell, sublicense or commercially redistribute access.
  • Overload the service with automated requests.

6. Subscriptions and payment

Oryva has a free tier with real functionality and daily limits, and a Premium subscription at ₹99 per month (prices vary by country and may change; the price shown at purchase is the price).

  • Subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms.
  • They renew automatically until you cancel, which you do in your app store settings — not with us.
  • Cancelling stops future charges; Premium runs to the end of the paid period.
  • Refunds are handled by Apple or Google under their policies. We will support a reasonable request but we cannot process the refund ourselves.
  • If we change the price, we will tell you before it applies to you.

7. Availability

We will try to keep Oryva running and your data safe, but the service is provided "as is". We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability, and we may change or discontinue features. If we discontinue something material, we will give notice and a way to export your data.

8. Ending things

You can delete your account at any time from inside the app. Deletion is permanent — your conversations and memory cannot be recovered afterwards.

We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 5, that we are legally required to close, or that is being used to harm someone. Where we can, we will tell you why and give you a chance to respond — except for the absolute prohibition in section 5, where we act immediately.

9. Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, and our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and the courts of India have jurisdiction, without affecting any mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.

11. Changes

If we change these terms materially, we will notify you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use Oryva after that means you accept the change.
